Paris is the "city of light," the most romantic city in the world so they say. The art and fashion capital of the world no wonder it is also the most visited city in the world. Apart from the many museums once you have seen the Eiffel Tower and many other well known tourist attractions there are boulangeries all over the city where you can indulge in a beautiful crisp baguette or a delicious pastry. Enjoy a hot savoury or sweet crepe on many a street corner. These are the delights of eating in Paris while wandering around this beautiful city..
We did the touristy thing today and went up the Eiffel Tower. Once the tallest structure in the world, the Eiffel Tower is probably Europe's best known landmark and Paris's most famous symbol.
Even if you do not want to visit this world famous structure, you will see its top from all over Paris. The tower rises 300 meters tall. When it was completed at the end of the 19th century it was twice as high as the Washington Monument, at the time the tallest structure in the world. We went early to avoid the crowds but however the crowds came with us. It seems it is a very busy spot at any time of day or night but you must do it.

One of our favourite streets in Paris just near our apartment. Rue Montorgueil neighborhood is a vibrant pedestrian area in the heart of Paris. Rue Montorgueil has some of the best meat and fish markets in the city, amazing delis along with renowned pastry shops like La Maison Stohrer, cosy bistros, boutiques, and bars. There are many great casual restaurants.
Rue Montergueil is a slice of authentic Paris. Just stroll the day away and watch the Parisians go about their daily life. We spent a week in a nearby rental apartment and felt like we had really lived in Paris for the week, not just visited.
One place we simply had to visit was Stohrer's Patisserie, the oldest patisserie in France. Nicolas Stohrer opened his bakery in 1730 here at 51 rue Montorgueil. We could not decide which of these amazingly delicious pastries, cakes or chocolates to try so we just had to keep going back to try these mouthwatering treats Yum!!! But what can you do?
