Collins Street is one of the exclusive shopping strips in the city where you will find designer and other quality stores. The Bourke Street Mall is where Melbourne is at its busiest with large department stores and specialty shops.
The famous Melbourne Trams run down Bourke Street, this section does not allow cars. Melbourne and its suburbs are known for their restaurants, with many different cuisines to cater for all tastes. Chapel Street in Prahran and South Yarra are the trendy shopping areas of Melbourne along with Bridge Road Richmond with many factory outlets.
The Arts Centre Complex on St Kilda Road is where you will see a wide variety of concerts and of course there are restaurants here to dine before your show.
The Melbourne Cup, the first Tuesday in November is a world class event with the glamour and fashion it's a fun day for all.
In September each year the Royal Melbourne Show comes to the Flemmington Show Grounds where the country meets the city. Animals, food, show bags, side shows and more to keep the kids entertained.
There is so much to see and do in Melbourne but if you want to get out of the city the Dandenong Ranges are about an hours drive from the city where you will find pretty little towns, quaint little shops and cafe’s and many walks in the nearby Sherbrooke Forest with a great picnic area. Puffing Billing is a great day out for the kids big and small.
The Yarra Valley also about an hour or so from the city is wine country with a wide selection of wineries with cellar door and world class restaurants where you can enjoy an excellent meal.
The Mornington Peninsula is the beach side playground then there is The Penguin Parade at Phillip Island.
