The photos below are taken early in the morning. We both love to get up and wander around the village before most people are up and about. At this time of the morning you see the picturesque alleyways as they are without the crush of people you will find here of an evening.
At the time we are wandering around the fishing boats are arriving in with their catch and people are clearing away the evidence of a great night out in the restaurants and bars. Miniature garbage trucks are squeezing through the alleyways sometimes touching the walls collecting the garbage.
We choose our favourite bakery which has the most awesome and different bread rolls and sit by the water. It is simply magic watching the everyday life in such a place.
Many (mainly) little old men of an indeterminable age are wandering out of the several bakeries with their morning loaf of bread. This seems to be the main business of locals at this hour. In the many waterfront cafes you see small groups of men enjoying their coffee and putting the world to rights. Funnily enough you do not see many women out at this hour doing these things.

Another of our favourite times is later in the morning going in the opposite direction of the village square to a nearby lovely beach area just to wander around the beautiful beach or sometimes to have a swim. The water here is just so still even I can mange it.
When I say the village gets busy in the evening I mean the village starts to get busy around 7pm. Local families take their kids to a fabulous playground built recently in the square. The beach goers are arriving back on the little boats from the nearby beaches. Many of the shops, restaurants and bars are only opening around 7pm. We could not believe it when a couple we have become friendly with in a jewellery shop told us they don't close until at least 1am, in August peak season usually around 2am.
There are eating places of every kind in every alleyway, on corners that during the day you did not even realize a restaurant existed there, people spilling everywhere. All languages, people young and old. Girls and guys looking as if they just stepped out of the latest Italian fashion mag, young mums with prams looking the same. Families wandering with the Grandma so old and frail down to the new babies in prams.
It is just great wandering down to the village to have dinner whether you wish to eat at 6pm or midnight. Then just sitting having a coffee or drink watching this passing parade.
